Smangele Tsotetsi
On the first day of the Passover I decided to accompany my neighbor to her church, which is the SCIM. I was skeptical about the whole thing but I tagged along all the same.
When we arrived at the church I knew immediately that it was the best decision I have taken in a long time. Members of the church embraced me so warmly from the first handshake I got from the usher at the door. It suddenly dawned on me that I was really in the house of the love, which is the house of the Lord.
Throughout the service I felt as though I am already a member, so much that I almost felt holy. There was so much zeal and life in me as I experienced God’s presence, and that is when I felt really alive. Healing took over without any of the pastors laying hands on me.
Ever since then I have returned to the church many times over. There is no other place I would rather be than to be at the Spirit Covenant.
Elizabeth Masana Mabena
Mpho Letebele: What makes you to attend the church even when it rains?
Elizabeth Masana Mabena: That is in itself not enough for me. I wish it were possible for me to stay here in the house of the Lord. When I am here I very much whole, I feel as though this joy will last forever, it is true when the Psalm says, ’There is fullness of joy in the house of the Lord’. Hence I am forever here.
Is there any difference you have perceived in you life since you arrived here?
A lot has happened, actually. I cannot even begin to describe the level of elevation I feel here. I now know how to pray not only to God but I am now also able to conquer my own demons.
What have been your highlights here?
As it is said in Romans one needs to accept Jesus as his Christ the Lord and Savior. Then one will be saved. I did exactly. Now I am not only am I born again; I even had an encounter with the Holy Spirit. The man of God is a blessing in my life simply because he allowed God to use him as a vessel for me to be saved.

My Experiences here at the SICM,
There is a
happy story of John who always dreamt of
a beautiful snazzy vehicle. But all he could do was dream.
Then he came
to the SCIM for a routine service and met with Prophet Bheki Yende. Pastor
Yende told John he sees a Golf 7 that he is obsessed with and John admitted John knew
that it was true that he badly wanted the Golf so he immediately set out to
apply for a banking loan to secure his dream vehicle. This was immediately
approves at the most low rates anybody could dream of.
So ….hopes
he will soon be cruising in a new shiny Golf 7
GOGO Skhosana
This lady is
happy that her family now believes in the power of the prayer. She says by
doing so they have made her the happiest person alive. “I am so grateful that
from daughter to all my grandchildren everybody now accepts the Lord as their
savior.”
Xoliswa
Xoliswa lost her husband and for her
the world seemed to have caved in. Life became difficult and it was hard for
her. But she thanks the Lord for the unity He that has brought her house
together. That unity sustained her home after her husband’s death when all
seemed lost. “He has always been faithful, always there and proved to be the
good shepherd I needed in my life,” Xoliswa remarks. She adds that God has been
nothing but available, hence her gratitude to Him.
My Experiences here at the SICM,
Vickey Zwane
Zwane says she is ecstatic that she will not have to be
surgically operated on anymore. She initially struggled to breathe normally as
though her respiratory system was clogged up. Then she went to the SCIM for
help. “I attended a Thursday prayer session where the prophet, Bheki Yende,
prayed for me.” Zwane says she immediately got her deliverance after the
prayer. “I was worried before because I burped the way sangomas do. That
perturbed me a lot.” But now he is happy that she is healed.
“I will not be operated on anymore. Truly, truly, change happened through the
minute I allowed God to take over every aspect of my life.”
Unveiling the word with Pastor Matsiri Tony Mailula
The three dimensions of the Holy Spirit explained
There is a question that is frequently asked by those who
still want to know more about those who call themselves ‘born again’ and attend other churches. The question is, “why do Christians from other churches only pray to Jesus Christ and ignore God?’ Their logic is that
the Lord is the Father and Jesus is the Son. So believers, the skeptics opine,
ought to pray to the Father before they can do so to the Son, isn’t? They ask.
Pastor Mailula maintains that the new era for Christianity
is here now, the era in which mankind and Christians are guided by the Holy
Spirit. God, in the book of Genesis,
says ‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob’. There has always been a body
made up of three whenever God wanted to liaise with the people on earth.
But in John 1:1 God says the word is now in flesh. “This has
to be,” says Mailula. God has to reache out to His people and the direct,
easier way has to be in flesh so that mankind can understand Him. When Jesus
left the world in flesh He promised that He will ‘leave you with the
comforter’. This Mailula, points out,
meant He was leaving the world with the Holy Spirit. The first part of the
dimension is God, the second Jesus and the third the Holy Spirit, which is in
operation now. Mailula says there is an
assurance of possessions; you do not have to own anything now as the Holy
Spirit is with you as far as your eyes can see. “You have everything already.”

Let the Youth be Born Again
![]() |
Pastor Thulane Shaun Gama |
I am a pastor here at the church Spirit Covenant International (SCIM).
I was saved in 2014 and so I am a born again Christian. Soon thereafter that, in 2016, I was ordained to be a youth pastor.
The main vision of the church is taken from the book of Hebrews 10:15-16 which says “Wereof the holy ghost is a witness to us, for after that it had said before, This is the Covenant I will make with them after those day says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them.”
The vision of the youth ministry is heavily aligned to the vision of the church. We teaching the youth the word of God because the Bible says in the book of Hosea 4:6, “My people will perish because of the lack of knowledge.” Many young people do bad things because they don't know the truth. I it is my duty to lead them to lead them into understanding the word of God which will make them to be approved by God. Because it says in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved to God.”
To be approved by God through his word is to know the truth about him and His power and also lead them to a prayerful life so that they will not enter into the temptations of this world. We read in Mark 14:38 that “Watch and pray so that you won't enter into temptation,” and I lead them towards a clean life. We also show them how the youth must live and behave as a young people as Christians. As a Christian your life must be holy because the Christian the body is now a temple of God- the house in which God dwells.
The mission of the ministry in the youth league is to win many young people into salvation by doing youth services, door to door ministry and open air ministry so that we can attract many young people to our church.
We do not plan to teach them only about the Bible and salvation but we intend to also give guidance about the future by holding conferences, seminars and youth camps. This will help them to strategize about planning of being successful young persons. We hold career expos so that they will lead better life styles and be able to realise their true-self, their self-actualisation and know how to be independent in life and hold their own in this dog-eats-dog world. In all this they are taught no to forget how to live and serve God same time.
The challenge we have is that many young people that fellowship with us in the ministry are not serious in serving God all the time, every time.
The way forward for our youth league is to have youth services every Saturday from 3pm until 5pm teaching the youth the word of God so that they can recognise their spiritual gifts and know their purpose in the Kingdom of God
We plan to host fundraising activityy days in the future to raise money for various charity campaigns this year. These fundraising events will include car washing and selling food and drinks, outreaching programmes to the communities. The church must lend a hand and help communities to show the love that Jesus Christ gave us.
One other innovation the youth will embark on will be to go outside Gauteng to other provinces and experience their way of doing things. We will also pray with them there in the mountains for a week and have fun like playing forest games and so on,
I say to all the youth- be born again.
To be a Christian in young age is not a crime but to be saved is a good achievement in life. When you are a child of God everything is possible in your life. The Bible says if you believe that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected\ on the third day nothing will be impossible for you.
The youth is tomorrows” leaders, so let's not allow the temptations and distracting things of this world to disturb our vision, mission, dreams and goals. Let's teach ourselves to be positive always in everything we do. And let’s know that education is the key to success.
All this can happen if we put Jesus Christ first in everything we do. May the Lord bless you all my fellow brothers and sisters. You are highly favoured

Thato Mphosi |
THATO MPHOSI
She arrived at the SCIM a tattered, battered soul on the brink of despair. Thato is a librarian with the Ekurhuleni municipality and she is in her late thirties. She has three children.
For the past nine years she has battled to convince a cell phone service provider company to sort out their mistake in placing her name with the credit bureau. With her name blacklisted and the refusal to remove it prevented the banks to offer her a housing loan.
Thato was adamant that she was in the black as far as her credit status was concerned.
She came to the SCIM a dejected spirit in December of last year but she, se says, felt different a few days after she had pitched up. Previously she was sick and without energy, but by March most of the agony had gone.
“The grace of the Lord Jesus is omnipotent,” she enthuses, happy that her housing bond is being considered by the banks. “I attribute all this to the faith I have in the SCIM and my own belief in the all mighty, all powerful name of Jesus.”
GLORIA BUTHELEZI
Gloria was deep in financial quagmire when out of the blue an insurance company put some money her way. For a moment, her troubles took a back seat. This happened after Pastor Bheki Yende had prayed for her.
Since then she has secured a job at the CCMA and she is as happy as they come.
